Wu required further efforts to strengthen the epidemic prevention and control by following the important instructions made by Vice Premier Sun Chunlan during her inspection tour from August 11 to 15 in Yangzhou, where a recent outbreak of COVID-19 has caused the infections of more than 500 people in local communities.
Wu Zhenglong urged all-out efforts to close loopholes so as to contain the COVID-19 resurgence in the shortest possible time until achieving zero increase in coronavirus infection.
He asked the authorities in Yangzhou to strengthen the requirements for prevention measures such as checking health code, temperature measurement, and wearing masks for key areas and key populations, enhance the management of quarantine centers, strictly prevent the import of infected cases from foreign countries, and ensure effective treatment of confirmed cases and the prevention and control of in-hospital infections.
